Who We Are

Volunteer ETSU is the university’s central hub for student service and civic engagement. As a student-led organization, we empower students and faculty to step beyond the classroom and create meaningful change in the community. Guided by our mission to lead with intention, serve with purpose, and connect through service, we prepare students to become compassionate leaders who are socially responsible and community-minded. More than just an organization, Volunteer ETSU is a network of students dedicated to building stronger communities and leaving a lasting impact on campus and throughout the Appalachian region.

What We Do

Volunteer ETSU provides a wide range of programs and initiatives designed to engage students in meaningful service while fostering leadership development. Through monthly Service Saturdays, annual traditions like The Plunge, campus-wide days of service, and partnerships with local nonprofits, we create opportunities for students to learn about pressing community needs and take action to address them. Our Student Community Coordinators lead small teams of volunteers, helping their peers build connections, gain real-world leadership experience, and make a tangible impact. Whether it’s supporting local shelters, promoting environmental sustainability, or communities in need, Volunteer ETSU equips students with the tools to serve with purpose and leave a positive, lasting legacy in the Appalachian region and beyond.
