Non-profit domestic violence intervention services agency accepting resumes for the position of part-time Shelter Coordinator.  Responsibilities include answering Emergency Hotline, screening potential clients for Emergency Shelter, compiling client files, completing all necessary forms - both intake and departure, assisting with safety planning, data entry, transportation, and all other emergency services as needed.  Qualifications / Education: Graduation from high school and related work experience.  College course work toward a degree in human services with some knowledge, skills and abilities in counseling is desired.  Ability to maintain confidentiality in relation to clients and client services.  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.  Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to pass a criminal background check. Volunteer: Outreach Advocate

Domestic violence intervention services agency seeking highly motivated individual to hire for the position of Outreach Advocate, with on call duties. Full time - 37.5 hours per week at the agency's Outreach Office located in Abingdon, VA. Responsibilities include providing on call services (rotating weeks) to Sexual Assault Victims. Plan and implement court related services to assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in navigating through the criminal justice system. Provide advocacy, case management, court accompaniment, and information and referrals. Provide other necessary client services as needed. Data entry and timely reporting is required. Ability to maintain confidentiality in relation to client and client services. Qualifications and education include B.A./B.S. degree in social science, human services, criminal justice, or related field desired or 5 years related work experience, may be considered. Ability to work with people in crisis, pass background check, valid driver's license, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Experience working in the criminal justice field is beneficial. Ability to coordinate activities, good time management, and work with limited supervision are a must.
